Mary R. Arnold, 53, Bryant, mother of Norman Arnold, Berne, died early Wednesday morning at her home. She had been employed by the Jay School Corporation at Jay County High School.
Born September 14, 1922, in Jay County to Eugene and Vera Bechtol-Myers, she was married to Kenneth Arnold on July 3, 1940. She was a member of the Bryant Wesleyan Methodist Church.
Surviving are her husband; two sons, Jerry E. Arnold, Bryant, and Norman Arnold, Berne; two daughters, Mrs. Robert ( Nancy) Dull, Geneva, and Mrs. Samuel (Patricia) Skinner, Dunkirk; nine grandchildren and six brothers, Herbert Myers, Coldwater, O.; Charles D. Myers, Portland; LeRoy Myers, Monique, Mich.; Gerald Myers, Portland; Harold Myers, Portland; and Daniel Myers, Portland; and two sisters, Mrs. Alberta Staten, Comas, Wash., and Mrs. Helen Moore, Ridgeville.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home, Portland with Rev. Harry Moeller officiating. Burial will be in the Gravel Hill Cemetery, Bryant.
Callers will be received at the funeral home after 3 p.m. today.
