FUNERAL TUESDAY FOR ALFRED PYLE
RITES AT GENEVA FOR AGED
JAY CITY RETIRED FARMER
Funeral services will be held on
Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Hardy and Hardy Funeral Chapel in
Geneva for Alfred Cole Pyle, 85, who passed away at his home near Jay City
at 3:30 p.m. Saturday. Rev. Harold Schram will officiate and burial will be
in the Doherty Cemetery.
Mr. Pyle, a native of Adams County, passed
away after a year’s illness. He was a retired farmer and was a life-long
resident of the New Corydon and Jay City community. He was born on April 26,
1871, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John C. Pyle. He was married in 1900 to Jennie
Weaver, who survives.
Other survivors include three sons, Gail of
Portland, John and Jess both of New Corydon; one daughter, Mrs. Warren
Slusher of New Corydon; nine grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Goldie Keisler
of Bryant and one brother, Robert of New Corydon.
