Father of Monroe man dies today
Jess W. Pyle, 69, of New Corydon,
father of Ernest Pyle of Monroe, died this morning at the Community Care
Center, following a lengthy illness.
He was a retired employee of the
Carsh Stone Co.
Born in Jay county on August 27, 1904, he was the son
of Alfred and Jennie Weaver-Pyle. Survivors include one son, Ernest Pyle of
Monroe; one sister, Ocie Slusher of New Corydon; one brother, Earl Pyle of
Portland, and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at
1:30 p.m. Friday at the Baird-Freeman funeral home, Portland, with Rev. Lee
Rose officiating. Burial will be in the Daugherty cemetery. Friends may call
at the funeral home after 6 p.m. Thursday.
