Hiles LeFinley Farris
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. today at
the Baird Freeman Funeral Home, Portland, for Hiles LeFinley Farris, 78,
Portland, father of Mrs. Jack (Susie) Hurst, of Geneva. He died Sunday
afternoon at Jay County Hospital. Burial was in Center cemetery west of
Portland.
He was a retired Portland city employee.
He was born in Jay
County June 14, 1897, a son of Albert and Laura Johnson-Farris, and was
married to Shirley Reagle Houtz on October 20, 1917.
Survivors include
the wife, two sons, Rolland Hank Farris
and Lawrence Farris, both of
Portland; three daughters, Mrs. Malcolm (Julia) Banta and Mrs. Jack (Susie)
Hurst, both of Geneva, and Mrs. Jay (Connie) Oberlander, Greenville, O.; two
brothers, Rex Farris, Portland, and John Farris, New Carlisle, O.; 10
grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
