Catharine Schlosser Smith was born in Piqua County, Ohio on May 8, 1822 and
was baptized by Rev. Henry Wise; died May 4, 1897, aged 74 years, 11 months
and 26 days.
She was united in marriage with Daniel Smith on
February 12, 1840. To them were born 11 children, 5 sons and 6 daughters.
One son and one daughter preceded her to the spirit land. Daniel Smith, her
husband died on May 28, 1881.
She with her husband, were members of
the Reform Church in Fairfield County, Ohio and in 1853 they removed to Jay
County, Indiana.
She leaves to mourn her demise 4 sons and 5
daughters, 40 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, with many friends and
neighbors. Funeral services were held at the Reformed Church Boundary, May
6, 1897. Interred at Boundary. Rev. L. B. Clayton officiated.
