Roy Allen Funk, 80, RR 6, Portland, at Boundary City, died early Sunday at the Jay County Hospital following an extended illness. He worked as a machine operator for Sheller-Globe for 29 years, retiring in 1976.
Funk was a member of the Tri-State Gas Engine and Tractor Association. Born July 15, 1912, in Randolph County, he was the son of Charles and Rebecca (Heniser) Funk. He was married May 21, 1942 to Emma Norris, who survives.Surviving besides his wife are two sons, Richard A. and Gerald A. Funk, both of Indianapolis; one daughter, Barbara J. Evans, Shelburn; two brothers, Albert Funk, Spartansburg and Herbert Funk; 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Services are set for 10 am Wednesday in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home
with Emmitt Collett officiating. Burial will be in Boundary Cemetery.
