Services for Hazel D. Arnold, 94, Powell, Ohio, a former Portland
resident, will be
Saturday at noon in the Portland Chapel of the
Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home
with Pastor Scott Solether
officiating. She died Tuesday in the Riverside Methodist
Hospital in
Columbus, Ohio.
Burial will be in the Antioch Cemetery, southeast of Portland.
Born in Jay County on June 6, 1910, she was the daughter of James and Eva
(Caster)
Tharp. She married Forrest G. Arnold on March 19, 1928. He died
on May 17, 2002.
She had been employed at Jay Garment in Portland for 20 years and she and
her
husband had owned and operated the American Bar in Portland for 27
years.
Memberships include the Women of the Moose and the Eagles
Auxiliary, both in
Portland.
Survivors include two sons, Richard D. Arnold, Portland, and Jerry J.
Arnold, Dayton,
Ohio; a daughter, Sylvia A. Jaros, Powell, Ohio; seven
grandchildren; 14 greatgrandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation is Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to services on
Saturday at the
funeral home.
