Services for Laura M. Atkinson, 64, South Western Avenue,
Portland, are Tuesday at 6
p.m. in the Portland Chapel of the Williamson
and Spencer Funeral Home with Pastor
Tony Ruble officiating.
She died Thursday at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.
Born in Lawrenceburg, Ky., to Edward Lee and Ruth (Bernard) Butler, she
was
preceded in death on Sept. 1, 2004, by her husband Phillip D.
Atkinson, whom she
married on Dec. 27, 1963.
She had attended
Dunkirk High School and was a member of Harvest Time Bible
Church, west
of Bryant.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Jim (Tina) Weaver, rural
Muncie; three sisters, Mrs.
Chris (Nancy) McCarter, Dunkirk, Mrs. Ron
(Carol) Unger, Harvest, Ala., and Ruth
Crefasi, Muncie; a brother,
Edward Butler; a sister-in-law and five grandchildren.
Visitation is
Tuesday from 3 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Antioch
Cemetery, southeast of Portland.
