Seymour Daily Tribune Ruth Marie Kyle Whitehorn Dec. 31, 1910 – June 19, 2006 Ruth Marie Kyle Whitehorn, 95, Columbus, died at 9:26 a.m. Monday, June 19, 2006, at Columbus Regional Hospital. Mrs. Whitehorn had been superintendent of Old Union UCC for several years. She was employed by Dr. Walter Fisher as a receptionist and bookkeeper for many years. She was a member of the Golden Harvesters at Garden City Church of Christ. Born Dec. 31, 1910, she was a daughter of Roy Kyle and Hattie Russell Kyle, both of whom preceded her in death. On Feb. 11, 1941, she married Lawrence Delmas Whitehorn, who died May 7, 1973. Survivors include a son, M. John (Betty) Whitehorn, Morgantown; four grandchildren, Tim Whitehorn, Seymour, and Chelsea Whitehorn, Abby Whitehorn and Anita Whitehorn, all of Morgantown; a daughter-in-law, Kay Whitehorn, Seymour; a great-grandchild, Madison Whitehorn; two brothers, Allen D. (Pat) Kyle, Edinburgh, and Maurice L. (Sue) Kyle, Franklin; and four sisters, Dorothy M. Ritchison and Carol R. (Owen) Wilson, both of Westport, and Reba A. (John) Manion and Mary C. (Lewis) Tenney, both of Columbus. She was preceded in death by a son, Marvin Dale Whitehorn; a brother, Forrest R. Kyle; and two sisters, Nell Boswell and Margaret Steep. The Rev. Virgil Clotfelter will conduct funeral services at 10 a.m. Thursday at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home, Columbus. Burial will take place at Garland Brook Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. until time of service Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to Old Union UCC or Garden City Golden Harvesters.
