Seymour Tribune Norma Jean (Wehmiller) Spieker 1925 - 2008 Norma Jean Spieker, 83, Seymour, passed away at 8:54 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 21, 2008, at Lutheran Community Home, Seymour. She graduated from Seymour High School in 1943 and was a homemaker and a farmer's wife. She also was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Seymour, where she had served in the Immanuel Guild and a former member of the Jackson County Extension Homemakers. She loved to do word puzzles, and play euchre and canasta. She was also a part of the Charity Euchre Group. Born July, 1, 1925, in Seymour, she was the daughter of Walter H. and Hilda S. VonDielingen Wehmiller, both of whom preceded her in death. On June 2, 1946, she married John. W. Spieker at Immanuel Lutheran Church. He preceded her in death on April 14, 1992. Survivors include her son, Robert W. (Kathy) Spieker, Seymour; daughter, Linda L. (Charles) Eggersman, Brownstown; two grandchildren, Kari (Ty Schwade) Spieker and Mark Spieker, both of Seymour; two brothers, Lynn K. (Ida) Wehmiller and Don L. Wehmiller, both of Seymour; and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Marguerite Wehmiller, in 2006. The Rev. Ralph Blomenberg, the Rev. Philip Bloch and the Rev. James Rodriguez, will conduct funeral services at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Seymour. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Burkholder Funeral Chapel, Seymour and from 9 a.m. until time of service Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Seymour.
