The Tribune Seymour, Indiana Thursday, March 01, 1906 Page 2 Chas. J. Rosenbaum, a pioneer of this vicinity, died Feb. 20, of paralysis. He was born in Pittsburg, Penn. Aug. 17, 1819. In 1844 he was married to Sarah Potter, and to this union was born one son, Wm. H. Sarah, his wife died 1846. In 1848 he was married to Mary Motsinger, and to this union was born one daughter, Mary C. wife of W. D. Lutes, of this place. He moved to Freetown about 1850. He was the first Post Master at that place, and helped to lay the town plot. Later he moved to Houston and was elected trustee of Salt Creek Township. He then moved from Ewing to Clearspring and lived there for some time and from there he moved in with his son-in-law, W. Lutes near Houston, and had lived there for about 12 years. He joined the Church of Christ in 1853 and at his death was a member of the Church of Christ at Buffalo. Thus living a faithful member for over 53 years. He was 86 years 6 mo., 13 days old and leaves a son and daughter, grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his loss. His remains were laid to rest in the Lutes cemetery Feb. 21. ~Transcribed by: Alexandria Sandlin.
