Seymour Daily Tribune January 25, 2007 Janet Lou Meyer March 22, 1933 - Jan. 24, 2007 Janet Lou Meyer, 73, Seymour, died at 7:15 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2007, at Lutheran Community Home. Mrs. Meyer worked as a waitress for the downtown Elks Club for 35 years and then retired from Dicksons after 11 years in 1995. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and loved to watch her children and grandchildren in their sports activities, play euchre and do word search puzzles and loved to eat Pizza Hut breadsticks. She also volunteered at Lutheran Community Home. Born March 22, 1933, in Seymour, she was a daughter of Albert and Selma Trimpe Newkirk, both of whom preceded her in death. On June 17, 1951, in Waymansville, she married Melvin L. "Steve" Meyer. She is survived by her husband of 55 years; two sons, Rex Allen (Teresa) Meyer and Rick S. (Jennifer) Meyer, both of Brownstown; two daughters, Teresa J. (Ron) Walters, Bloomington, and Debbie K. (Carl) Sobieralski, Indianapolis; 13 grandchildren, Nicole, Danielle and Brooke Meyer, Brownstown, Grace and Eli Meyer, Brownstown, Aaron, Kyle, Jenna and Zach Walters, Bloomington, and Blake, Haley, Carly and Tyler Sobieralski, Indianapolis; and a sister, Beulah Combs, Seymour. The Rev. Ralph Blomenberg will conduct funeral services at 2 p.m. Sunday at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Burial will take place at Lutheran Cemetery in Seymour. Friends may call from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday at Burkholder Funeral Chapel, Seymour, and from 1 p.m. until time of service Sunday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Alzheimer's Association, Lutheran Community Home or the donor's choice.
