Seymour Daily Tribune November 20, 2006 Barbara E. Long Feb. 12, 1935 - Nov. 18, 2006 Barbara E. Long, 71 died at 2 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 18, 2006, at Tampico, at her residence. Mrs. Long retired in 1973 from the former Panasote factory and later retired from Columbus Container in 1997. She was a member of the Crothersville Veterans of Foreign Post 1083 Ladies Auxiliary and was of the Baptist faith. Born Feb. 12, 1935 in Brownstown, she was a daughter of John William and Anice Sylvia (Abbott) Hankins. On March 11, 1951 she married James D. Long in Seymour, who survives in Tampico. Other survivors are, three sons, James "Squirrel" D. Long Jr., Columbus, John A. Long, Tampico, and Thomas "Tommy" (Pricilla) Long, Tampico; two daughters, Beverly Sue "Susie" (Larry) Jones, Tampico, and Bonnie E. (Fred R.) Robinson, North Vernon; two brothers, Norman Hankins, Maine, and Leotis Hankins, San Mateo, Calif.; 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Rich; three brothers, Robert, Stanley and William; and a grandchild. Burial will be at Russell Chapel Cemetery.
