Seymour Daily Tribune December 18, 2006 Ronald M. Gates Ronald M. Gates, 38, of North Vernon, formerly of Brownstown and Columbus, died at 5:15 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 16, 2006, at Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility after a long battle with cancer. Mr. Gates was a supervisor at Dairy Queen of Brownstown and a past employee of Enkei America Inc., Columbus. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, especially with family and his children. He also enjoyed NASCAR and had been an avid bowler. The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 22, 2006, at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home, 3855 25th St., Columbus, with the Rev. Brad Napier of Brownstown Presbyterian Church officiating. Calling will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 21, 2006, at the funeral home and also from noon until service time on Friday. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Hospice of South Central Indiana. Darnell June 29, 1996. Survivors include his parents, Marvin "Sonny" and Mary Gates of North Vernon and Jerri Rush Humphries of Phoenix, Ariz.; daughter, Danelle D. Gates of Columbus; wife, Kimberly Darnell Gates; and children Zackary N. Gates, Dakota M. Gates, Sierra N. Gates and Marvin D. Gates, all of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; brothers, Alan L. Quick of Columbus and Carey J. Gates of North Vernon; sisters, Shannon J. Warner of Phoenix, Ariz., and Marci A. Gates of Columbus; grandmother, Dorothy F. Gates of Columbus; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. Gates was preceded in death by his sister, Melinda Dawn Gates; maternal grandmother Mary E. Jacobs, and paternal grandfather Glenn M. Gates.
