Seymour Tribune - May 25, 2007 Randy D. Furkin Jan. 6, 1955 – May 24, 2007 Randy D. Furkin, 52, Columbus, died at 11:05 a.m. Thursday, May 24, 2007, at the Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility. Mr. Furkin was a U.S. Navy veteran, a self-employed mechanic and enjoyed race cars, model cars, fishing and working with his hands. Born in Columbia, Ky., on Jan. 6, 1955, he was a son of Carl Furkin and Jewell Kelsay, both of whom preceded him in death. Survivors include daughters, Rebecca (Scott) Claycamp, Seymour and Andrea and Marissa Furkin, both of Columbus; grandchildren, Nathaniel, Hunter, Christian, Haley and Grace; brothers, Stevie and Carl Furkin, Raymie Kelsay and Shawn Burton, all of Columbus, and Mark Kelsay, St. Petersburg, Fla. and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Randy Dean Parkerson; brothers, Douglas Kelsay and Danny Furkin, and a sister, Judi Phillips. There will be no funeral service. Friends may call from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home, Washington Street. Cremation will follow. Military rites will be conducted at 5 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home by the Bartholomew County Veterans Color Guard.
