Seymour Daily Tribune May 24, 2002 William A. Elliott William A. Elliott, 87, Lexington, died Thursday, May 23, 2002, in Scottsburg. Mr. Elliott was a retired farmer and a member of Pleasant Ridge United Methodist Church, Lexington. Born June 16, 1914, in Scott County, he was the son of Homer Elliott and Emma Jane Robbins Elliott, who both preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Mabel Tolbert Elliott, Lexington; two sons, Ronald Joe Elliott, Crothersville, and Homer Lee Elliott, Philadelphia, Pa.; three daughters, Virginia Funk and Barbara Braden, both of Scottsburg, and Beverly Elliott, Lexington; three sisters, Evelyn Quinn, Urbana, Ill., Mary Bush, Scottsburg, and Anna Belle Helzer, Indianapolis; 13 grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. He also was preceded by two brothers and a daughter. The Rev. Tom Bohnert will conduct funeral services at 11 a.m. Monday at Stewart Funeral Home, Scottsburg. Burial will be at New Bethel Cemetery, Lexington. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. until time of services Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to New Bethel Cemetery, through the funeral home.
