Seymour Daily Tribune March 4, 2002 Delbert Doyle Delbert “Joe” Doyle, 81, Seymour, died Friday, March 1, 2002, at Floyd Memorial Hospital, New Albany. Mr. Doyle was a member of First Baptist Church, Seymour, and was a veteran of World War II. He had been retired from Brown’s and Jay’s Grocery since 1985. Born Feb. 10, 1921, in Clay County, Ky., he was a son of Cornelius Doyle and Ada Belle Murrell Doyle. On Nov. 16, 1940, he married Jennie Louise Copeland, who survives in Seymour. Other survivors include a son, Gary (Jane) Doyle, Seymour; three daughters, Rita (Jack) Bush, Sherry (Marvin) Tiemeyer and Sandy (John) Spray, all of Seymour; three brothers, Foster Doyle, Kentucky, Herman Doyle, South Bend, and Irvin Doyle, Vallonia; three sisters, Clara Nolan, Evansville, Dorothy Cheek, Ohio, and Jeanette Barkman, Texas; five grandsons, Joseph Doyle, Shawn Spray, Shane Spray, Aaron Tiemeyer and Nick Tiemeyer; five granddaughters, Pamela Knotts, Kimberly Bush, Kelly Walker, Kari Wolfe and Shannon House; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Maude Doyle; two brothers, Arthur Doyle and Richard Doyle; a granddaughter; and a great-granddaughter. The Rev. Bruce Cochran will conduct services at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Voss and Sons Funeral Service, Voss Chapel, Seymour. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Seymour. Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. today and from noon until time of service Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to First Baptist Church of Seymour, Hospice of Floyd Memorial Hospital in New Albany or donor’s choice.
