Private Moore War Fatality In Italy Area

Son of Clearspring Couple Was Previously Reported Missing in Action Since June 28

Private Marshall Moore, age thirty, son of Otis Moore, of Cleasrspring, has been killed in action in Italy, according to word received from the War Department by his father and step-mother. Pvt. Moore had previously been listed as missing in action since June 28.

A native of Hamilton county where he was born August 15, 1913, Pvt. Moore entered the armed forces in November, 1943. He took his basic training at a camp in jGeorgia, leaving for Italy a few days after he had visited his father in Clearspring on April 2 of this year.

Pvt. Moore is survived by the widow, who lives in Indianapolis, his father and step-mother, of Clearspring; one brother, Sergeant Roscoe Moore, serving in England; and two sisters, Mrs. Russell Huntzinger, of Bloomington, and Mrs. Jess Hedrick, of Indianapolis.

In a recent letter to Mr. and Mrs. Moore, Pvt. Moore wrote that he "had been converted and had been baptized by an army chaplain in Italy".
