Hubert Hackman Dead

Hubert Hackman, son of William Hackman, of Tampico, died Monday night at Montgomery, Ala., where he was stationed at Camp Sheridan, after a brief illness with the influenza. The deceased was twenty-three years and seven months old. he was born in Washington township, and lived most of his life in the vicinity of Tampico. The remains were brought to Seymour this morning and later taken to Sauers, where the funeral will be held tomorrow afternoon at one o'clock, the Rev. Pohlman, pastor of Sauers church officiating. The young man is survived by his father, William Hackman, one sister, Miss Ora Hackman, at home, and three brothers, Amos, who is in the service and is stationed at Westpoint, Ky., Theodore and Lewis, who reside at Tampico.

The Legion held special services at the grave of Capt. R.B. Applewhite, the only service man of the World War buried in this cemetery. In the morning a detail of Legion men went to the Sauers and Wegan cemeteries and held special services over the graves of Martin Hagan and Herbert Hackman.
