Indianola Shelton-Payne

I am looking for information on Indianola Shelton Daughter of Isaac Weathes Shelton and married William Milo Payne. They had 3 childred before her death in 1895 from typhoid. Charles Isaac Payne- My Grandfather, Harley Payne and Elizabeth Payne who married Harry Shelton.

I have a letter from Romona Boley whose husband was Bill Boley, one of the first Jackson County historians that she wrote to my cousin and stated " Indianola's real Mother may have been Morning ........." and she though her daughter Candace knew who the name of Indianola's Mother was.

She also stated in the letter that she wished they had some of that Indian blood in their background as it is so very interesting.

I know there are people who know the true story of Indianola Shelton-Payne, but for some reason they will not share it. I do know that the Lizzy Barkman who is listed as her mother on her death certificate is not her true birth mother.

Any help you may be able to give would be greatly appreciated.
