James Foist, born 17 Mar 1828, Berkeley County, Virginia, died 9 Apr 1870, Reddington, Jackson Co., Indiana. md 1 Feb 1827, Berkeley Co., VA, Susan Snyder, born May 1808; died, 6 Oct 1863, Reddington, Jackson Co., Indiana.

Children:

1. Rebecca Foist, born 1828 in Berkeley County, Virginia. md on 4 Nov 1852, Jackson county, Indiana, Squire Welliver.

2. John M. Foist, born 1829, in Berkeley County, Virginia, died before 1900. He married Sara Jane Rockwell.

3. Braxton S. Foist, born 29 Apr 1830 in Ohio. Died 6 May 1910 in Seymour, Jackson, Indiana. He married Mary Jane Sealy.

4. Martha Foist 1836 in Ohio. She married David Emly.

5. Randolph Foist, born 8 Apr 1839 in Dayton, Montgomery Co., Ohio; died 30 Dec 1891 in Scipio, Jennings Co., Indiana. He married (1) Rosella Jayne, (2) Martha Ann Taylor.

6. Harrison Foist, born in 1840 in Ohio.

7. James Foist, born 27 Nov 1842 in Ohio; died 19 Feb 1865.

8. Mary Foist, born in 1844 in Ohio; died 20 Aug 1876 in Scipio, Jennings Co., Indiana. She married Joshua Rockwell.

9. Roseann Foist, born 2 Dec 1847 in Ohio; died 30 Aug 1856.

10. Samuel Foist, born 1852 in Indiana.
