Susannah "Susan" (Maudlin) McCoy was born June 14, 1848 in Grant County daughter of Dillon Maudlin and Elizabeth (Draper) Maudlin. The Maudlin's were long-time residents of Grant County but were married in Henry County on January 16, 1834.

Susan is listed as a widow living in Kennard in the 1920 census of Henry County. The couple lived in both Harrison and Greensboro townships.

David McCoy was born in 1850 in Ohio. He and Susan were married about 1877, probably in Grant County, Indiana. They were living in Grant County at the time of the 1880 census and by 1900, they were living in Henry County. He died between 1917, probably in Henry County.

David McCoy (1850-1917) and Susannah McCoy (1848-1935) are buried in the Clear Spring Cemetery (Friends cemetery in Harrison Township) where they share a headstone.
