Here we have two pictures of the stone belonging to Reason Malott. According to the cemetery records, Reason died on February 5, 1852. He was the first landowner in Washington Township and whose son Robert was the first white child born in Grant County, Indiana.
This is Penelope Bocock, wife of John Bocock. She died on June 18, 1869. The Bocock family lived north of the cemetery according to the 1860 plat book. Their land, in fact, bordered the land of George Hobaugh. I can't read the other stone in the picture on the right.
Many stones were found beside the trees. I know that they weren't in the original gravesite.
This stone (on the left) looks like it is in the original place, and one of the few stones that I found like this. I believe the other stone has the initials J.B. Yet, I am not sure of this.
The first stone is Elmer E. Bond, son of J. & S. Bond. He died January 30, 1862, and he was just five months old. The second stone is Lewis W. Bond. Lewis died on October 4, 1860, and he was three years old. He was also the son of J. & S. Bond.
I am guessing that this stone is Amos Bond, son of M. & M. Bond. He died March 26, 1863 and was 17 years old. I am not sure of the second stone.
These are the same stones, just taken at different locations. I can't read either of these stones.
The first stone has the initials "M.B." I would have to assume that this might belong to a member of the Bond family. I wonder if this is the back of the stone. It almost appears like there was nothing written on this side. The second stone is one of the only really readable stones. This is Margaret Jackson, daughter of M. & M. Bond. She died on August 3, 1869. I find this stone interesting because it appears to have been pieced back together along this tree as if someone has recently been here.
