(Most of the documents were assembled in the 1920's, but often refer to events from much earlier.  There is a tremendous amount of detail referring to proof of family relationships.)

Ralph McRoberts, being first duly sworn on his oath deposes and says, that he is now 51 years of age, resides in the town of Patoka in Gibson County Indiana, that he was personally acquainted with Czarina Alvis, who in life and at the time of her death was the owner of land in Gibson County Indiana, and he positively knows that the said Czarina Alvis, departed this life intestate on or about the 4th day of June 1916 leaving her surviving no husband, but leaving her surviving as her heirs and only heirs at law Erastus Burkett, John T. Burkett, Frank Burkett and Dora Fritts who were her children by her first marriage to William Burkett, and Anna Yeager, William Alvis, James Alvis, Benjamin Alvis who were children by her last marriage to James M. Alvis and Donald Spain and Margaretta Spain who were her grand children, they being the only children of Zerelda Spain a deceased daughter of said Czarina Alvis. Signed Ralph McRoberts.
