(Most of the documents were assembled in the 1920's, but often refer to events from much earlier.  There is a tremendous amount of detail referring to proof of family relationships.)

Samuel F. Braselton, being first duly sworn on his oath deposes and says, that he was personally acquainted with Louisa J. Powell, daughter of Joseph J. and Jane S. Kirkman, to whom on the 11th day of January 1873, said Joseph J. and Jane S. Kirkman Lots numbered 1 and 2, in Embree’s Enlargement of the Town (now city) of Princeton Indiana, and he positively knows that the said Louisa J. Powell departed this life, in testate, on the 11th day of May 1923, leaving her surviving as her children and lawful issue of her body the following named, to wit; Eckles A. Powell , Bernice A. Wieland the wife of Edward E. Wieland, Marshall C. Powell and Lou K. Powell these and no more. Signed, Samuel F. Braselton. Subscribed and sworn to before me on this 18th day of September 1923 signed Charles W. Benton, Notary Public.
