(Most of the documents were assembled in the 1920's, but often refer to events from much earlier.  There is a tremendous amount of detail referring to proof of family relationships.)

John W. Martin being first duly sworn on his oath deposes and says, that he is now 79 years of age and that he was personally acquainted with Lourinda Davis who on the 2nd day of Feb., 1877 executed a deed of conveyance to Thomas Robb and Levi Skelton for the undivided 1/3 land part in value of the N1/2 of the NW 1/4 of Section 25, Town 3 south, Range 13 West and other lands in Gibson County, and that he positively knows at the time of executing said deed; Lourinda Davis was the widow of David R. Davis. Affiant further says, that he was personally acquainted with Mary J. Davis who on the 15th day of Feb., 1877 executed a deed of conveyance to Richey Summers for the undivided 1/7 part in value of the above and foregoing described lands and he knows that at the time of executing said deed of conveyance the said Mary J. Davis was an unmarried woman. Affiant further says, that he was personally acquainted with Eliza M. Davis who on the 18th day of Mar., 1878 executed a deed of conveyance to Richey Summers for the undivided 1/7 part in value of the above described lands and he knows that at the time of executing said deed of conveyance the said Eliza M.
