(Most of the documents were assembled in the 1920's, but often refer to events from much earlier.  There is a tremendous amount of detail referring to proof of family relationships.)

Landon Kell, being first duly sworn on his oath deposes and says, that he was personally acquainted with Phillip Crow who in life and at the time of his death was the owner of land in Oakland City, Gibson County Indiana, and he positively knows that the said Phillip Crow departed this life intestate on or about the 14th day of December, 1887 leaving him surviving as his heirs and only heirs at law, his widow, Charlotte Crow who was his second wife and had no children by him and his three sons namely;. Jesse A. Crow; William F. Crow; and James M. Crow and his grandson Theodore Thompson who was a son and only heir at law of a deceased daughter of said Phillip Crow. Signed Landon Kell.
