(Most of the documents were assembled in the 1920's, but often refer to events from much earlier.  There is a tremendous amount of detail referring to proof of family relationships.)

Alfred M. Johnson, being first duly sworn on his oath deposes and says, that he was personally acquainted with Mary E. Williams, the widow of James M. Williams, deceased, who in life and at the time of her death was the owner the south 12.4 acres in the northeast part NW 1/4 Sec. 31, Town 3 South, Range 12 West in Gibson County Indiana and he positively knows that said Mary E. Williams departed this life, in testate on or about the 2nd day of August, 1922, leaving her surviving as her heir and only heir at law her son George Adrian Williams. Signed Alfred M. Johnson.
