(Most of the documents were assembled in the 1920's, but often refer to events from much earlier.  There is a tremendous amount of detail referring to proof of family relationships.)

Alfred M. Johnson, being first duly sworn on his oath deposes and says, that he was personally acquainted with James M. Williams, who in life and at the time of his death was the owner, the south 59 acres in the west 1/2 of the NE 1/4 Sec. 31, Town 3 South, Range 12 west in Gibson County Indiana and he positively knows that said James M. Williams departed this life, in testate on or about the 9th day of January, 1903, leaving him surviving as his heirs and only heirs at law, his widow Mary E. Williams and his three children namely; James E. Williams and John C. Williams born by his first wife and George A. Williams, the only child born by his second wife Mary E. Williams. Signed Alfred M. Johnson. Subscribed and sworn to before me on this 13th day of October 1926 signed Charles W. Benton, Notary Public.
