(Most of the documents were assembled in the 1920's, but often refer to events from much earlier.  There is a tremendous amount of detail referring to proof of family relationships.)

G. M. Emmerson, being first duly sworn on his oath deposes and says, that he was personally acquainted with Nicholas Teel and Mary Jane Teel his wife who on the 17th day of December, 1888, executed a deed of conveyance to Ulyssis S. Grant Teel for the SW ¼  of Section 9, Town 3 south, Range 11 west, in Gibson County Indiana, and he positively knows that said Mary Jane Teel departed this life about the year 1920. Signed by G. M. Emmerson. Subscribed and sworn to before me on this 29th day of July 1924 signed Charles W. Benton, Notary Public
