(Most of the documents were assembled in the 1920's, but often refer to events from much earlier.  There is a tremendous amount of detail referring to proof of family relationships.)

Lucius C. Embree, being first duly sworn on his oath deposes and says, that he was personally acquainted with Milton Perry Embree, who on the 24th day of March 1863, executed a deed of conveyance to James T. Embree for all right, title and interest in and to the SE 1/4 of Sec. 3 in Township 3 South of Range 10 west in Gibson County Indiana, and he knows that at the time of executing said deed of conveyance the said Milton Perry Embree was an unmarried man. Affiant further says, that he was personally acquainted with David Franklin Embree who on the 18th day of December 1863, executed a deed of conveyance to James T. Embree for all right, title and interest in the above described tracts of land, and he knows that at the time of executing said deed of conveyance the said David Franklin Embree was an unmarried man. Affiant further says, that he was personally acquainted with Eleanor Embree who on the, 19th day of March 1866 executed a deed of conveyance to William Harrin and John Woods for a part of the above described real – estate, and he knows that at the time of executing said deed of conveyance the said Eleanor Embree was a widow of the late Elisha Embree.
