James Arthur
Tenbarge, age 85, of Haubstadt, IN passed away
Tuesday, January 1, 2019 at his home surrounded by family.
Jim was born
December 26, 1933 in Posey County, IN to the late Leo and Lula (Scheller) Tenbarge.
Jim was a
member of St. James Catholic Church in Haubstadt, St. James Men’s Club and the
Knights of Columbus. He worked for Emge Packing
Company for 41 years and was the owner and operator of Tenbarge
Lawn Mowing Service. Jim enjoyed golf outings and Purdue football games with
his family.
Surviving
Jim are his wife of 65 years, Connie (Elpers) Tenbarge; daughters, Jane (Dennis) Barrett of Princeton and
Michele (Kenny) Will of Evansville; sons, Ron (Jamie) Tenbarge
and Randy (Jan) Tenbarge, both of Haubstadt and James
D. (Lori) Tenbarge of Indianapolis; fifteen
grandchildren, Kimberly (Brad) Peterson, Lindsey (Jacob) Dilbeck,
Rachel (Mark) Thompson, Jessica (Aaron) Neufelder,
Chris (Tami) Tenbarge, Carrie (Kurt) Williamson,
Courtney (Kyle Hoelscher) Tenbarge,
Christa (Brooks Martin) Tenbarge, April (Michael)
Cooper, Ashley (Derek) Hart, Austin (Lexi) Will, Alexis Will, Nick Tenbarge, Maddi Tenbarge and
Chelsea Tenbarge and sixteen great grandchildren.
In addition
to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by two sisters, Lillian Elpers and Malinda Schmitt and four brothers, Francis,
Wilfred, Silverius and Melvin Tenbarge.
There will
be a Mass of Christian Burial held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at
St. James Catholic Church in Haubstadt, Rev. Kenneth Betz officiating. Burial
will follow in the St. James Church cemetery.
Friends may
visit with the family from 4:00 until 8:00 PM on Friday at Pierre Funeral Home,
2601 W. Franklin Street and from 9:00 AM until service time on Saturday at St.
James Catholic Church.
