Norman P. Fischer, 68, of Oakland City, passed away peacefully into his eternal rest on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at Select Specialty Hospital in Evansville.

He was born January 3, 1950 in Princeton, IN.

After graduation he enlisted in the US Navy for 12 years, then was employed by Ward Brothers Concrete. He then was employed by the City of Oakland City for 30+ years, retiring in 2014. He was a member of the O.C. American Legion #356, Teamsters Local #215 and was a member of the First General Baptist Church in Oakland City. He enjoyed movies.

Norman is survived by 2 daughters, Dionna Szewczak (Dan) of Franklin, Ky. And Chelsea Vantlin of Princeton; 2 sons, Nathaniel Fischer (Michaela) and Tony Fischer both of Oakland City; sister, Debbie Cuzzort (Mike) of Princeton; 3 half-brothers, James Bailey (Pam) of Francisco, Larry Bailey of Princeton and Michael Ward (Melinda) of New Harmony; half-sister, Melissa Donohoo (Wayne) of Elberfeld; 7 grandchildren (and soon to be 1 more); several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins; and a special friend, Roxanna Fischer.

Funeral service will be held at 10 am on Monday, September 10, 2018 at Corn-Colvin Funeral Home in Oakland City, officiated by Pastor Alec Hensley. Visitation will be from 4 until 8 pm Sunday at Corn-Colvin Funeral Home.
