Betty J. Farrar, 90, of Cambria, was called home September 13, 2018.
She was born October 12, 1927 in Memphis, TN to the late Rev. James Herbert Hassell and Fern Louise (Lewis) Hassell.
Jesus was her “First Love” and He remained that for the entirety of her life.
Betty met the love of her life, Hershel Harold Farrar, and
married on October 12, 1946. They shared a life inseparable for 50 years until
his passing day. Her life was a life of service at the side of her husband, a
great and faithful minister to the Gospel of Jesus Christ spreading the Acts
2:38 message. Betty was a true servant to the Lord and to all that knew her.
She found joy in spending time with her family, taking care of her
grandchildren, cooking, and watching the hummingbirds.
She is survived by her children Harold Dean (Barbara)
Farrar, Carroll “Bub” Farrar, Dale (Deborah) Farrar, Larry (Cindy) Farrar, and
Marilyn (Keith) Caraway; sisters Brenda (Bob) Guinn and Carolyn Sue Rice; 17
grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents James and Fern Hassell; husband Hershel Harold Farrar; siblings Edith,
Doris, Jeanette, and Richard; son Michael Farrar; and great grandchild Jacob
Farrar.
Holder’s Funeral Home is honored and privileged to be entrusted with the care of Mrs. Farrar. Visitation will be held Monday, September 17, 2018 at South Gibson Apostolic Church from 11a.m.- 1p.m. Funeral will be Monday at 1p.m. with Rev. Linda Godfrey officiating and Rev. Robert Chitwood assisting. Interment will be held at Maumee Cemetery.
