Joseph Louis Yockey, 100, of
Princeton, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, August 2, 2018 at River Oaks
Health Campus in Princeton.
He was born in Arriba, Colorado on March 27, 1918 and raised in Kansas.
He was married on February 18, 1945 to Leola (Myers) Yockey. They celebrated 62 years of marriage prior to her death in 2007.
Louis was fortunate to celebrate 100 years of life with
family and friends in March 2018.
Louis worked at Emge Meat Packing until his retirement in 1984. He enjoyed John Deere tractors, gardening, farming, and his family. He was also a member of Broadway Christian Church.
Louis is preceded in death by his wife Leola and a son
Arthur Duane in 2017.
He is survived by one daughter, Rose (Greg) Obert of Fort Branch and one son, Ronald (Patricia) of Fort
Branch; 11 grandchildren, Lori Spindler, Sarah Spindler, Elizabeth Ivy, Matthew
Obert, Stephen Yockey,
Monica Johnson, Anthony Yockey, Lydia O'Connor,
Elijah, Jonathan, and Daniel Yockey; many
great-grandchildren; one sister Mary Stagg of Kansas City, MO.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, August 4, 2018 at Stodghill Funeral Home located on Hwy. 168 West in Fort Branch. Friends may call from 10 to 1 p.m. prior to the service. Reverend John Dunn will officiate with burial in Walnut Hill Cemetery in Fort Branch.
