Walter Robb, 93, of Mt. Olympus, left this world to be with his Creator and Savior Jesus Christ.  

He was born to Homer and Lona (Bryant) Robb, August 5, 1925.

He lived in Mt. Olympus all his life and graduated from Mt. Olympus High School in 1943. He played basketball in high school and with Gibson County Rural Youth, and served on the Rural Youth Board. He took a short course at Purdue University. He was a charter member of the Mt. Olympus Lions Club and a lifetime member of Mt. Olympus Community Center and served on the board many years. He also was on the board of trustees of Washington Township for 20 years. He was a farmer and school bus driver for Mt. Olympus and North Gibson 8 years. He worked as a truck driver for the Gibson County Highway Department for 17 years. After he retired, he worked for the Heidenreich Farm getting parts as needed. He attended Mt. Olive United Methodist Church in Mt. Olympus until he was unable. He was known for his laughter and you would always know he was in the crowd. He loved bananas and strawberries and his first tractor was a Farmall. His favorite songs were “Happy Birthday” and “Because He Lives”.

Walter is survived by his wife Marcella, to whom he was married in 1959 at the General Baptist Church in Hazleton; a son, Don (Paula) Ellis of Covington, Washington; a daughter, Diane (Denny) Hadley of Hazleton; grandsons, Jason Ellis of Federal Way, Washington, Jeremy (Jennifer) Robb and Colton Hadley of Hazleton; granddaughter, Crystal (Tracy) Parks of Florida; great grandsons, Noah Robb, Tym Payne, Aston Parks and Ayden Payne; great granddaughters, Jade Ellis and Alyssa Payne; a sister, Mildred Heidenreich of Princeton; a sister-in-law, Mary Lou Broadwater; several nieces and nephews, and a special nephew, Chris Heidenreich.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Lona (Bryant) Robb; a brother, Paul Robb; and a son, Donnie Wayne Robb.

Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, August 24, 2018 at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton, with Pastor Sam Polito officiating. Burial will follow at Shiloh Cemetery near Hazleton. Visitation will be from 4 until 7 p.m. Thursday, August 23rd at Colvin Funeral Home.
