Doris Evelyn (James) Morrison, 94, of Patoka, passed away Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at River Oaks Health Campus in Princeton.
She was born February 17, 1924 in Vincennes, IN to the late Floyd “Israel” James and Edith Easter (Fields) James.
She had lived in Patoka since 1952. She was a homemaker and a dancing partner. Doris and her husband, Max, enjoyed dancing and received trophies from the many dance contests that they entered. She enjoyed camping, sewing, shopping and traveling. She is survived by her 2 daughters, Terri Lee Hurst of Evansville, IN and Cindy Lou Morrison of Princeton, IN; 2 grandchildren, Amanda C. Hurst and Dustin R. Hurst of Evansville, IN; 6 great-grandchildren, Eli Jordan Hurst Bishop, Lydia Renae Hurst, Lauren Ashley Hurst, Colten James Hurst and Layla Jean Hurst , all of Phenix City, AL and Grace Evelyn McFadden of LaPorte, IN; 1 sister, Marti Nelson of Paducah, KY; and several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Roy Max Morrison of 72 years on August 15, 2017 and a sister, Norma June James. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 28, 2018 at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton, IN, officiated by Rev. Larry Meadows. Burial will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Patoka, IN. Visitation will be from 12 noon until the time of service on Saturday at Colvin Funeral Home.
