Melvin B. Michel, 85, of Fort Branch, IN, passed away at St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville, IN on July 5, 2018.

He was born to the late Gerhard and Hilda (Fehd) Michel in Fort Branch, IN.

Melvin was a member of the Fort Branch First Presbyterian Church. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force having served at the end of the Korean War.

Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother; Arnold Michel and a sister; Marilyn Sholz.

Melvin is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Joan (White) Michel of Fort Branch, IN, 3 children; Duane (Dawn) Michel, Rebecca (Mike) Lindauer, and Janet (Kevin) Gentry all of Fort Branch, IN, 2 sisters; Geraldine Van Patten of Fort Branch, IN and Dorothy Hans of Illinois, 1 brother; Cletus Michel of California, 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Services will be on Monday, July 9, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Stodghill Funeral Home in Fort Branch, IN with Pastor Corey Atkins officiating. Visitation will be on Sunday, July 8, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Stodghill Funeral Home. Burial will be at Walnut Hill Cemetery with Military Honors services performed by the VFW post# 2714 and the U.S. Air Force Honor Guard.
