Lois
G. Lawson, 95, passed away Thursday, June 14, 2018.
She
was born February 18, 1923 in Parke County, Indiana to the late Waldo Shaw
Nevins and Ina (McNeil) Nevins, she then lived in Clinton, Indiana and graduated
from Clinton High School.
She
then moved to Princeton and then left to live in Indianapolis from 1968 – 1980
and returned to Princeton in 1980. She was formerly a member of the Christian
Science Church in Princeton, before it closed and was attending Christian
Science Church in Vincennes and a member of the Mother Church of Boston. She
was a long-time member of Golden Fleece Chapter No. 176, Order of Easter Star
in Princeton and was a Past Worthy Matron. She was also a member of Gibson
County Homemakers Association. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and
great grandmother.
Lois
is survived by 3 sons, Dennis Lawson (Celia) of Brunswick, OH, Randy Lawson
(Judy) of Francisco, IN and Timothy Lawson (Laurie) of Mooresville, IN; a
daughter, Lisa Madden (Steve) of Vincennes, IN; 8 grandchildren, Wayne Lawson
(Diane), Becky Foltz (Terry), Trent Lawson (Melissa), Chris Lawson (Toletha), Aiden Lawson, Owen Lawson, Treven Madden and
Cameron Madden; 7 great grandchildren.
She
was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Alfred M. “Shorty” Lawson on
December 11, 2011 and to whom she was married on September 16, 1941 in Spencer,
Indiana; also 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
Funeral
service will be held at 10 a.m. CDT Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at Colvin Funeral Home
in Princeton, with Ann Nimnicht officiating. Burial
will follow at Columbia White Church Cemetery in Princeton. Visitation will be
from 4 until 8 p.m. CDT Tuesday, June 19th at Colvin Funeral Home, with an
Order of Eastern Star service at 7:30 p.m. that evening.
