Helen
Faye Tolbert, 85, of Giro, passed away Sunday, May 27, 2018 at Amber Manor Care
Center in Petersburg, IN.
She
was born February 21, 1933 in Petersburg, IN to Carl and Lucy (White) Miley.
She
graduated from Petersburg High School in 1951. She lived in the Giro area for
57 years. She had been a telephone operator at Petersburg Telephone Company.
Helen enjoyed crossword puzzles and coloring. She enjoyed traveling with her
aunt. Her and her husband participated in parades all over the area with their
horses. They were in the Palestine Parade on Labor Day for 32 years in a row.
She
is survived by her husband of 64 years, Roy “Quig”
Tolbert of Giro; brother, Ted Miley of Petersburg; 2 sisters, Shirley English
of Kansas City, MO and Sharon Sue Cord of Spencer, IN; and several nieces,
nephews.
She
is preceded in death by her parents, sister, Judy (Miley) Messmer;
brother, Jack Miley; sister-in-law, Betty (Wood) Miley; and infant sister and
brother.
Funeral
service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 2, 2018 at Colvin Funeral Home in
Princeton, IN, officiated by John Davidson. Burial will follow in the Davidson
Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. Friday at Colvin Funeral Home.
