Marvin D. Smith 95 of Oakland City entered rest on Monday May 28, 2018 at
his home in Oakland City.

He was born on May 30, 1922 in Pikeville, IN to Paul and Naomi (Chappell) Smith.

He was a retired school teacher after 30 years of services and served in the United States Army during W.W. II. Marvin was a member of Forsythe United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Virginia Smith and wife Thelma Smith on July 19,2008.

He is survived by sons Paul(Lisa) Smith of Owensboro, Ky and Glenn Smith of
Punta Gorda , Fl. Grandchildren Jason Smith and Jessica Smith, Great- Grandchild: Logan Parrott, Step Great Grandchildren Chelsie, Caleb, Connor Lester, David Erwin and Nathan Knight. 

Memorial services will be 1:30 P.M. Saturday June 2,2018 at the Forsythe United Methodist Church with Rev. Kristi Calhoun officiating. The Family request memorial Contribution begiven to Forsythe United Methodist Church in memory of Marvin. Family has entrusted Lamb-Basham Memorial Chapel for personal assistance.
