L. Matthew Nixon, 45, of Princeton, passed away Tuesday, May 29, 2018.
He was born December 13, 1972 in Princeton and had resided in Gibson County most of his lifetime.
He went to Indiana University and Valparaiso University School of Law and enjoyed discussing the law and really enjoyed his time studying abroad and his studies at the University of Cambridge in England. Matt was an attorney with his law firm, Fair, Nixon & Nixon in Princeton and was a member of the Indiana and Gibson County Bar Associations. His son, Will was the most important part of his life, however, he had many interests. He was an animal lover, guns and target shooting, playing golf, bicycling, cooking, magic tricks and shows, card tricks and was a ventriloquist. Matt was considered a practical joker with a dry sense of humor.
Matt is survived by his son, Will Nixon; mother, Nancy Nixon; sister and brother-in-law, Emily and Tim Burris; brother and sister-in-law, Brad and Nora Nixon; nieces and nephews, Lacey, Logan and Miranda Nixon, Zach and Sarah LaGrange and daughter, Evie, Tim and Beth LaGrange and sons, Ray and Daniel.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles R. Nixon in 2002.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 3, 2018 at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton, with Pastor Mark Holland officiating. Burial will follow at Archer Cemetery in Princeton. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Sunday at Colvin Funeral Home.
