Bonnie
L. (Phillips) Mix, 101, of Evansville and formerly of rural Princeton, passed
away Monday, April 23, 2018 at University Nursing & Rehab in Evansville.
She
was born December 8, 1916 in rural Princeton to John and Daisey (Kolb)
Phillips.
Bonnie
graduated from Mt. Olympus High School. She played women’s baseball for a
factory team in South Bend, IN during WWII. She was a dedicated NY Yankee's fan
and loved to watch the Indianapolis 500 race. She was a former member of Union
Bethel Presbyterian Church. She was a homemaker, but had previously worked at
Smith & Butterfield Office Supply and Republic Aviation.
She
is survived by her son, Tom Mix; and several nieces and nephews.
She
is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Meville
A. “Bill” Mix Jr. in 1987; brothers, Sherman and Ernest Phillips; and sisters,
Lucinda Smith, Arminta Risk and Leota
Fleming.
Funeral
service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 28, 2018 at Colvin Funeral Home in
Princeton, IN, officiated by Rev. Karen McNeill-Utecht.
Burial will be in the Decker Cemetery, rural Patoka at a later date. Visitation
will be from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday at Colvin Funeral Home.
