Lois
June (Roberts) Kissel, 85, passed away at Deaconess
Midtown Hospital in Evansville, IN on April 15, 2018.
She
was born to the late Walter and Madge (Boren) Roberts on June 12, 1932 in Fort
Branch, IN.
She
was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church and the Good Will & Good
Ways Extension Homemakers Club. She was a librarian at Fort Branch-Johnson
Township Public Library for over 40 years and was the Head Librarian for
28 years. She was also the past school librarian for Holy Cross School.
She was the driving force behind the learning center at the Fort Branch-Johnson
Township Public Library and the library's Haubstadt branch.
Lois
was a big fan of the St. Louis Cardinals, IU Basketball, bird watching, and
avid watcher of "Days of Our Lives".
She
is preceded in death by her husband Norman Kissel,
brother; Stanley Roberts, and sister; Ruth Anderson.
She
is survived by her 3 daughters; Kathy (Conan) Wallace of Winchester, IN, Mary Kissel, of Owensboro, KY, and Sheila (Steve) Hussey of
Pittsboro, IN, Brothers-in-law; Charles (Donna) Kissel
of Indianapolis, IN and Chet Staples of Evansville, IN, Sister-in-law; Diane
Roberts of Indianapolis, IN, 7 grandchildren; Peter (Kim) Wallace, Grace
Wallace, Daniel Wallace, Aaron Wallace, Sarah Hussey, Jacob Hussey, and Justin
Hussey, and 1 great grandchild; Evan Wallace.
A
Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, April 20, 2018 at 11:00
a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church with Fathers Tony Ernst and Ambrose Wonyanyi as co-celebrants. Visitation will be on Thursday,
April 19, 2018 at Stodghill Funeral Home in Fort
Branch, IN from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and again on Friday, April 20,
2018 at Holy Cross Church from 10:00 a.m until
service time. A Rosary service will be on Thursday, April 19, 2018 at Stodghill Funeral Home at 5:30 p.m. Burial will be on at
Holy Cross Cemetery in Fort Branch, IN
