Charles
R. Whitehead “Dickie”, 93 passed away Monday, March 26, 2018 at home with
family.
He
was born September 17, 1924 to William Jennings and Emma (Bishop) Whitehead.
Dick
graduated from Princeton High School. He was a World War II veteran and a life long coal miner. He was a member of the VFW, American
Legion, and the Eagles. He was a firm believer in “what’s right is right” and
“what’s wrong is wrong”!
Dick
and Beulah (Pavey) were married on March 31, 1947.
They had nine children: Jim Riley (Connie), Karen Morris (Darrell), Alice Nash
(Bill), Rick (Susan), Retta Lindsey (Steve), Darla Morrow (Don), Larry, Joe
(Deb), and Kevin (Jamie). He is also survived by 30 grandchildren, 36 great
grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren.
He
is preceded in death by his wife, Beulah and sons, Rick and Larry, and
son-in-law, Darrell.
Funeral
service will be held at the graveside at 10 a.m. CST Friday, March 30, 2018 at
Maple Hill Cemetery in Princeton. There will be no visitation and friends and
family are asked to meet at the cemetery for the service. Colvin Funeral Home
in Princeton has been entrusted with arrangements. Retired Military Veterans
will conduct military rites.
