Dan F. Newton, 81, of Owensville went to be with the Lord February 12, 2018.

He was born March 27, 1936 in Owensville to the late Ivan and Maerita (Simpson) Newton.

Dan was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He retired from his passion of farming in 2005; he loved raising cattle and working the land.

Aside from his parents he was preceded in death by his sister Phyllis Murray.

Dan is survived by his wife of 61 years Cynthia; sons Mike (Carla) Newton and Bart (Deloris) Newton; brother Joe Newton; sister Carmen Newton; 6 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday, February 16, 2018 at Holders Funeral Home, 319 S. Main St. Owensville, IN at 10 a.m with Pastor Braden Willis officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday, February 15, 2018 from 6p.m.-8p.m. and Friday starting at 9:00 a.m until service. Burial will be held at Clark Cemetery.
