Marilou
(Stitt) Madden, age 94, of Dallas, TX, went to be with her Lord and Savior
Jesus on Tuesday, February 6, 2018, at Baylor Scott & White Hospital,
Dallas, TX, surrounded by her family.
Marilou was
born July 16, 1923 in Elberfeld, IN, to the late William Roscoe and Irma (Voelker) Stitt.
She was
raised on a farm near Elberfeld, graduated from Elberfeld High School in 1940
and then Evansville College, Class of 1944 with a Bachelor's Degree. She was
married in May 1944 in Kingsville, TX to James Arthur (Jim) Madden of Elberfeld
and remained there until the end of WWII. In 1945 she moved back to Evansville
for 3 years, and then to Philadelphia for 3 years where Jim worked with Servel Inc. In December of 1951 they moved to Lincolnwood,
IL, a suburb of Chicago, where they raised their family and stayed 62
years. She loved her host of friends at Westmoreland Country Club,
Wilmette, IL and at Westminster Presbyterian Church, Skokie, IL. In 2014 she
moved to Dallas, TX and made Park Cities Presbyterian Church (PCA) her new
church home. Marilou was a remarkable woman naturally making many new friends
wherever she went. She loved bridge, NBA basketball, and her family. A special
thanks to her caretakers who loved on her continually.
She is
survived by her sons William R. Madden (Kim) of Lake Forest, IL and James D.
Madden (Margaret) of Dallas, TX; sister Marge Posthauer
of Menlo Park, CA; sister-in-law, Clara Stitt of Dallas, TX; grandchildren
Berkeley (William) Litton, James A. Madden II, William Robert Madden III, and
Katie Madden; and great-grandchildren, Richard Henry Litton II and Margaret
Louise Litton.
She is
preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband of 51 years, Jim, and her
brother William A. (Bill) Stitt.
Graveside
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, February 16, 2018 at Nobles Chapel
Cemetery at 5478 E. Nobles Chapel Road, Elberfeld, IN with the Reverend James
A. Madden II officiating. Burial will be at Nobles Chapel Cemetery.
