Kenneth H. Holzmeyer, 85, of Fort Branch, IN, Passed away peacefully
at his home on Friday, Feb. 23, 2018.
He was born on April
8, 1932, in Fort Branch, IN to John and Carrie Holzmeyer.
Kenneth was raised
in Fort Branch, where he graduated from Fort Branch High School in 1950.
He was joined in
matrimony to Theresa Ann (Elpers) Holzmeyer
on April 6, 1953.
He was a veteran of
the United States Army. Kenneth worked for Chrysler Corporation until its
closure in 1959. He was a poultry farmer for nearly 20 years, and began
his third career as a wood craftsman, selling his creations at craft shows
throughout the Midwest. Kenneth was a member of the Holy Cross Catholic
Church and in 2008, was the recipient of the Brute Award for his service to the
church. His greatest pride and joy was his children and grandchildren,
and he was always ready to see one of their activities, or sitting around the
table playing cards or games with them.
Kenneth was preceded
in death by his loving wife of over 50 years, Theresa Ann, his parents, John
and Carrie Holzmeyer, his daughter, Karen Georges,
and his sister, Marjorie Preske.
Kenneth is survived by three daughters, Brenda
(Tom) Webster of Evansville, IN, Marilou (Ken) Morgan of Fishers, IN, Carol
Goedde of Owensboro, KY, by 6 sons, Keith (Sandy) Holzmeyer
of Chandler, IN, Mark (Kathy) Holzmeyer of Haubstadt,
IN, Eric (Lisa) Holzmeyer of Haubstadt, IN, Lloyd
(Kelly) Holzmeyer of Florissant, MO., Micheal (Summer) Holzmeyer of
Bloomfield, IN, and Chad (Shari) Holzmeyer of Newburgh,
IN, his son-in-law Rick Georges of Oakland City, IN, his brother Darwin Holzmeyer of Rockford, IL, twenty-five grandchildren and
ten great grand-children.
A Mass of Christian
Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2018 at Holy Cross
Catholic Church at 305 W. Walnut Street in Fort Branch, IN with Fathers Tony
Ernst and Ambrose Wanyoni co-celebrants.
Visitation will be held at Stodghill Funeral Home in
Fort Branch, IN on Monday, Feb. 26, 2018 from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM, with
Rosary at 1:30 PM. Visitation will also be held from 10:00 AM until service
time on the 27th at the church. Burial will be held following the service
at St. Bernard Cemetery in Snake Run.
