James Frank
Chandler, 85, of Haubstadt, passed away Monday, February 19, 2018 at Linda E.
White Hospice House in Evansville, IN.
He was born on
August 8, 1932 in Glezen, IN to Claude and Martha
Gladys (Hoover) Chandler.
James lived in
Haubstadt since 1984, coming from Princeton. He graduated from Mt. Olympus High
School and served in the US Marine Corps during the Korean War. He farmed in
Gibson County and retired after 35 years from Whirlpool. James attended the New
Life Church of The Nazarene in Princeton. He was a member of the Disabled
American Veterans, the Haubstadt American Legion #194, and the Ft. Branch VFW #2714.
He enjoyed collecting scale model antique tractors.
James is survived by
his wife of 63 years, Janice Mae (Lamb) Chandler of Haubstadt; children, Joy Hyneman (Bill) of Fort Branch and Jo Burns (Don) of
Haubstadt; grandsons, James William and Thomas Patrick Chandler of Arizona and
Seth Burns (Rebecca Cearfoss) of Evansville; great
grandson, Tennison Burns of Evansville.
He was preceded in
death by his parents; son, James Frank Chandler II; brothers, Claude Gene and
Robert Joseph Chandler.
Funeral service will
be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, February 22, 2018 at Colvin Funeral Home in
Princeton, officiated by Pastor Andrew Johnson. Burial will follow at Mt. Olive
Cemetery in Mt. Olympus. Visitation will be from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Thursday at
Colvin Funeral Home. Military graveside service by Retired Military Veterans.
