Ruby Joan Turpin, 85, of Princeton, passed away Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at the Linda White Hospice Center in Evansville.
She was born May 18, 1932 in Princeton, IN to Elbert and Nanie (Yaden) Sherman.
She lived in Princeton since 1960, coming from Hazleton. She was member of the Columbia General Baptist Church. She was a secretary at 64 Garage in Princeton. She previously also worked at Stubnitz Springs in Vincennes and Mid State Rubber. She was a CASA volunteer, helping a lot of children. Enjoyed artistry, worked with leather, painting and was an avid reader.
She is survived by her husband, Virgil “Bud” Turpin of Princeton; 8 children, Bob Turpin of Patoka, Harlon Turpin (Mamie) of Princeton, Judy Zimmerman of Princeton, Jo Ellin Patterson (Clark) of Princeton, Jayne Wangler (Randy) of Rockport, Rusty Turpin (Vickie) of Patoka, Janice Utley (Mike) of Patoka and Scot Turpin (LeAnne) of Princeton; 20 grandchildren; 41 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents; 3 sisters; 1 brother; and 2 grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 4 p.m. Sunday, January 21, 2018 at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton, IN, officiated by Pastor Kevin Wilson. No burial. Visitation will be from 1 until 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
